Mountaineering Designs established in 1972, still remains a family enterprise, based in the South Lakes UK, offering an exclusive and efficient, professional service to the discerning outdoor enthusiast, who is looking for quality of product, combined with value for money.

In the last 50 years, since Mountaineering Designs entered the market, our range of products and services have grown in response to the requirements of our customers. Our products and services are used by individuals and expeditions all over the world and many customers return year on year to regenerate, refurbish, improve/upgrade their equipment and to purchase new.

Why we are different?

Mountaineering Designs offers technical advice based on extensive knowledge of cold temperature climbing and survival. We are not perceived by our colleagues in the industry as competition, but as an essential service that they can recommend with confidence to interested enthusiasts. Regeneration of down equipment requires specialized expertise and understanding. Down is nature's most efficient insulator.
